Bajra Roti with Tempered Dal
The plate this bread was built for. Toor dal, a hot tempering of mustard seed and curry leaf, and a stack of bajra roti straight off the tawa.
You will need
- 1 pack Bajra Roti
- 1 cup toor dal, cooked soft
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- A handful of curry leaves
- 2 dried red chillies
- Ghee
Method
- Warm the dal through with a little water until it pours slowly off the spoon.
- Heat ghee, pop the mustard seeds, add curry leaves and chillies, and pour it over the dal.
- Warm each roti on a dry tawa for twenty seconds a side until it puffs.
- Serve immediately. The roti stiffens as it cools, so bring them to the table as they come off the pan.
