The aisle
Years inside food manufacturing plants, watching how the magic was made. Synthetic preservatives to keep food “fresh”. Artificial colour to cover what was missing from it.
About Prime Millers
A chemical engineer spent years making food last longer. Then he read the label on what his own family was eating.
Who we are
Prime Millers brings engineering back to the grain: freshly milled flour, carefully made flatbreads, and ingredients you can read on every pack.
The beginning
Years inside food manufacturing plants, watching how the magic was made. Synthetic preservatives to keep food “fresh”. Artificial colour to cover what was missing from it.
It was engineering, and it worked. For shelf life, not for human life. The realisation was simple and hard to unsee: the science was pointed at the wrong problem.
Back to ancient, drought-resistant grains. Millet in its variants, amaranth, sorghum. Grains that need neither heavy fertiliser nor the water modern crops demand, and that are gluten-free without being engineered that way.
Eighteen months of R&D, a lot of failed batches and most of a savings account later, our own pulverisers, dryers and roasters in Missouri City. Open to anyone who wants to watch.
Read the label
What to look for
Start with the grain. Read the full ingredient list. Check allergens, serving size, and storage instructions before choosing a bread for your table.
A little label-reading goes a long way.
Prime Millers Bajra Roti
Pearl millet flour, cultured pearl millet flour, flaxseed flour, tapioca starch, chickpea flour, chicory root, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, sea salt, psyllium husk flour.
The complete ingredient list is printed on each pack.

Why we exist
We use engineering to return to the source. Pure, chemical-free food that respects the earth and fuels the modern soul.
Sourcing
Kerala. Our South Indian roots start here. For the source of a particular grain or batch, our team can help.
Tamil Nadu. One of the South Indian regions in our sourcing story. Ask us about the origin of the grain in your current batch.
Andhra Pradesh. Part of the South Indian growing belt we work with. Grain availability changes with the harvest; contact us for batch-specific details.
The difference
We do not buy flour. We mill it, on our own machines, the same week the dough is pressed. Grain is stable. Flour is not: break it open and the clock starts.
Eighteen months of trials before a single pack was sold. Most of what we learned was about drying and roasting, which is where these grains either give up their flavour or do not.
No preservatives, no artificial colour, no dyes. That is what the nitrogen is for. We chose to take the oxygen out of the pack rather than put chemistry into the bread.
We can tell you the region every grain came from and the season it was grown in. No commodity broker in the middle, and no anonymous lot arriving on a pallet.
Better food, the old way.
Whole grains, milled fresh and pressed with care.
From the founder
I spent years inside food manufacturing plants as a chemical engineer. I saw exactly how the “magic” was made, and honestly, it bothered me.
I watched us use science to keep food “fresh” with synthetic preservatives, and mask a lack of nutrition with artificial colours. We were engineering food for shelf life, not for human life.
So I decided to use my engineering background to strip the junk away instead of adding more. That is why I founded Prime Millers.
I went back to the roots. Ancient, drought-resistant grains. Millet in its many variants, amaranth, and more to come. These grains are remarkable: they do not need heavy chemical fertilisers or the volumes of water modern crops demand. They are naturally gluten-free, environmentally resilient, and packed with the kind of nutrition our bodies recognise.
We do not use a lab to “improve” our food. We use our own mill, so every product is made without added preservatives or artificial colours.
I am not just building a brand. I am engineering a better way to eat, because you should not need a degree in chemistry to understand what is in your tortilla.
